HSSE Nationals Stock Risers
The HSSE Nationals had some competitive games and really impressive individual play. It’s great being able to come out to local tournaments and see some players from all around the state of Arkansas really show their talent and ability. Checkout the names below of some players that stood out and has their stock on the rise after their play from this national tournament.
Kamryn Reel | Wing | Swaggin’ Dragons/Morrilton | 2023
If you show you can make shots you will get my attention. And Kamryn did just that over the weekend. Her shooting ability forced defenders to closeout hard and allowed her to get into her pull-up jumper. Kamryn had more than just a change and shoot jumper. She also showed she could beat defenders off the dribble and get to the rim.
Bree McCrotty | Guard | Team Arkansas Elite/Hector | 2023
Bree had a solid showing with good all-around skills from the weekend. She showed toughness on both ends of the floor by being physical and not shying away from contact. Bree was a real team player by doing whatever was needed to help her team win. She defended, scored in transition, and showed off her jumper from the mid-range.
Damone Brown | Guard | South AR Lady Hoopers | 2025
Damone had an impressive showing over the weekend. She harassed her opponent with her on-ball defense. She combined her athleticism, discipline, and anticipation to make it difficult for the offense to get anything done. When she was on offense, she attacked the basket and went strong to the hoop. She also showed she could make the three-ball.
Chaney Gallion | Post | ENG/Brookland | 2024
Chaney is a solid post player. On offense she uses her size well to set solid screens, she ran the floor, showed she be physical on her post ups, and displayed a soft touch around the rim. Chaney did a nice job defensively also. She defended the paint, communicated with teammates on screens, cutters, and help, rebounded, and was alert and aware enough to provide good help defense.
Shyisha Willis | Guard | Team Arkansas Elite/Russellville | 2024
Players that can play multiple positions are valuable to any team. Shyisha showed that she could be a combo guard or be effective from the wing position. Offensively, she plays within herself. Meaning she’s not going to force anything, but can get by her defender off the dribble for the finish at the rim and she can knock down the open three-pointer. Defensively, Shyisha is also athletic enough to defend multiple positions.
Brailey Forst | Post/Forward | Team Arkansas Elite/Paris | 2023
Every coach loves a tough, physical player that goes after 50/50 balls and rebounds. Brailey is a versatile post players that has the ability to do more than just play with her back to the basket and rebound. She can get the ball off the backboard and push it in transition. Her ability to push it in transition can lead to making plays for herself or a teammate. Brailey also has a soft touch around the basket and can step out and make the three.
Megan Wood | Guard | Arkansas Warriors/Perryville | 2024
I was told to keep an eye out for this young lady because she could shoot with the best of them. I love seeing shooters fill it up. Megan definitely can shoot the ball from the behind the arc. Her shooting ability forces the defense to stay close which creates gaps for her teammate to attack off the dribble. She is also effective reading closeouts when the ball is swung to her. Megan has the ability to put the ball on the floor and attacking a straight line or she can make the tough contested shot.
Allie Pruitt | Combo Guard | Arkansas Warriors/Wonderview | 2024
Allie was selected as team MVP after her great performance at the HSSE Nationals. She’s an athletic combo guard that’s comfortable playing either guard position. She can push the tempo and weave in and out of traffic making plays for herself or a teammate when playing the point. When she’s off the ball she runs the floor and looks to slash to the basket when attacking off the catch.
