NBN Basketball Report Player Spotlight: Riley Brady

Riley Brady is a 5’10 senior forward for Episcopal College High School. I was in attendance during the Episcopal vs Riverview game and got the chance to see Riley put on one heck of a performance in front of her home crowd. Despite being undersized for her position, Riley brought max effort on both ends of the floor. The Episcopal vs Riverview game was the NBN Basketball Report Game of the Week, which was presented by Chris Hervey of All-State Insurance, and Riley was named player of the game.

Riley is one of few forwards/post players that are comfortable posting up or playing on the perimeter. She displayed the ability to attack Riverview’s defense off the dribble. She initiated dribble hand-offs, used her size and body well off the dribble, and did a good job of changing direction while maintaining good footwork and balance. She handled the ball in transition and made good decisions and delivered on-target passes to her teammates. Riley also has a nice shooting touch from the perimeter. She showed that she could be a threat from the mid-range with her catch and shoot jumper. Defensively, she controlled the paint with her rebounding and shot blocking. She communicated well and anticipated passes which led to steals and deflections.
